Wholesome Photography

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Photography is a passion. As most people would say, it started as a hobby. I have a graphic design background which helps me in more ways that I could ever imagine. An image is more than just capturing a moment in time, it tells a story. I allow the subject to create their own story. My job is just to make sure its told by the best angle and colors as possible.

What got you into wedding/portrait photography?
I love working with people. As a designer, I am in front of a computer all day. Shooting portraits and weddings make me interact with people while still getting paid. What’s not to like about that?

What are your favorite types of subjects to shoot and why?
People who enjoy getting their picture taken. It is almost too easy getting amazing shots with people who have great energy and a love for life.

What is your favorite piece of photographic equipment?
my Sigma 10-20mm lens. Very sharp and VERY wide!

What ProDPI products do you use?
Accordion books, proof books, oversized prints. Hoping to get a 1.5″ standout soon!

Are there any ProDPI products that have enabled your success?
Accordion books are a great inexpensive way to introduce clients to ProDPI’s quality work. I always have to reorder more books.

Why do you love ProDPI?
Superb quality, Fast shipping, Great customer service

Kelly Gorney Photography

I am a lifestyle photographer located in northwestern Pennsylvania. I developed a love for art at a very young age, mainly drawing, painting and designing, but my fondness for art shifted as I got older. I realized that I really loved photography and capturing people as they are in life. Now, here I am!

What got you into wedding/portrait photography?
My love of art and desire to capture moments that happen in everyday life is what really got me into photography. I really loved dealing with children. Their spirit and energy were the first things that drew me in. I have recently grown to love working with high-school seniors, though. They are SO much fun. I love the attitude and confidence of that age and it’s so great to see just how different each senior is. Love it!

What are your favorite types of subjects to shoot and why?
I would say my favorites are definitely children, seniors and couples. Children…so innocent and entertaining! They are curious and have such genuine expressions. Seniors…I know I said this before, but the attitude, independence and confidence of seniors is awesome. Love capturing that!! With couples, I love seeing the emotion…the little glances and the way they interact with one another is so inspiring. It is a joy to experience that through a lens :-)

What is your favorite piece of photographic equipment?
My body….Canon 5DMII. LOVE!

What ProDPI products do you use?
I order ALL of my prints from ProDPI. All gift prints and mounted prints. They are unbeatable in quality. I am in love. I also love the press printed greeting cards. My clients are always thrilled with them and I am as well.

Are there any ProDPI products that have enabled your success?
The prints! If I couldn’t offer my clients such a high-quality product, what would I do?

Why do you love ProDPI?
I love ProDPI because of the quality of product they offer. I couldn’t be happier!

Stills by Hills

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

I got into shooting when my oldest niece (who’s now 11) was born. I was in high school photography at the time and got marked down on projects (in college too) because I didn’t “have enough variety” in my shooting (they wanted me to shoot landscape, products, abstract etc) since all I wanted to photograph was people! I got my degree in interior design but decided to go back to my original passion of photography 3 years ago!

What got you into wedding/portrait photography?
I grew up assisting my mom in her videography business, and my uncle was also a photographer/tv director so it’s in my blood. I LOVE photographing people- especially children and the weddings sort of fell into my lap when I was asked to photograph a friends wedding when I opened the business. Capturing the emotion between a bride and groom is just so sweet.

What are your favorite types of subjects to shoot and why?
Children…I have SO much fun with them and love trying to capture their thoughts and letting them do fun things a normal mall studio wouldn’t allow them to do– like jump in puddles

What is your favorite piece of photographic equipment?
my 70-200 2.8 L is my FAVORITE lens– it’s my baby. I am so comfortable shooting with it (though my hands hurt the next day!)

What ProDPI products do you use?
everything! I love the prints, the standouts and the cards!!

Are there any ProDPI products that have enabled your success?
Everything has… the rep cards being so affordable and the press cards without envelopes have been great tools for networking with vendors

Why do you love ProDPI?
your customer service is outstanding and product quality is awesome

Lisa Russo Photography

Photography has been my passion for almost 20 years, starting out with landscape and nature work. I turned my camera to babies and children in 2006 and haven’t looked back.

What got you into wedding/portrait photography?
It was time (finally). My husband and I had discussed my starting a business for years, but wanted to wait until our family was complete and we were settled in one location.

What are your favorite types of subjects to shoot and why?
Newborns and babies. Simply because it’s such a joyous time in a family’s life and I LOVE capturing it for them. Those early days fly by so quickly.

What is your favorite piece of photographic equipment?
Oooh, tough one! I love my Canon 5D Mark ii, but added the 70-200 2.8 to my lineup last year and would marry it if I could.

What ProDPI products do you use?
Express proofs and Fuji printing.

Are there any ProDPI products that have enabled your success?
Definitely the express proofs!

Why do you love ProDPI?
Because you listen to your clients! With the recent addition of linen texture to your Fuji printing, you are now my one-stop lab. I’m so thrilled.

Mario Masitti Studios

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

My name is Mario Masitti! I am a 22 year old professional photographer based out of Denver, Colorado. My work is primarily focused around High School Seniors, Headshots, and Kids as well!

What got you into wedding/portrait photography?
I began with shooting automotive photography when I was 18… it wasn’t until I was pushed into a couple of weddings and senior portrait sessions that I realized how much I enjoyed working with people… I began refining my style and decided to push forward with my focus on High School Seniors.

What are your favorite types of subjects to shoot and why?
I love High School Seniors and Kids… they are by far my favorite subjects to shoot. I love mixing a fashion style with my seniors, making them feel like rockstars… and there’s nothing more captivating that capturing a child’s laugh. They are both extremely different styles and I enjoy shooting them both tremendously.

What is your favorite piece of photographic equipment?
I honestly have an appreciation for just some simple quality glass… give me just about any camera body, my 35 f/1.4, and the 85 f/1.2 and I am set!

What ProDPI products do you use?
The Fuji Pearl Prints are my most purchased product… they are such a unique option for my clients, and they constantly rave about how much they enjoy them. I also love the ProDPI Press options as well – specifically getting to use them for my Senior Rep cards.

Are there any ProDPI products that have enabled your success?
Absolutely! The vast array of mounting options, paper types, extremely quick turn around, and amazing customer service allow me to provide the same service to my clients.

Why do you love ProDPI?
ProDPI’s quality and customer service constantly blow me away. My client’s appreciate the confidence and quality behind my studio and my products, and I wouldn’t be able to offer that if ProDPI wasn’t as great as they are!
